Tapes - Hissing Theatricals               

Digital Dub? Tape hissing? Heavy shuffling?

Tapes on the Jahtari Label release the 9 Track EP; Hissing Theatricals. Principally a record consisting of condensed bass riffs with colourful synthy walls of sound with a percussive clarity that resonates from head to toe.

Apparently this record was originated on the dirty streets of Hackney but was then painstakingly mastered to cassette and then re-mastered back again; it was finally finished in some kind of squat in Liepzig. This ones definitely one to hear; it sounds like a mixing between a Dirty 80s Dancehall with King Tubbys Sound effects Library.

Gorgeously blended and textured together to create a complex and ominous record Tapes has built this from scattered percussive blips and soul numbing Bass lines unmistakably to form his Stylistic Signature sound.
